From Tech King to philanthropist, Bill Gates has ruled both worlds with his innovative ideas—developing the user-friendly interface Microsoft Windows, and his generous contributions through a charity he created with his wife, called the Melinda and Bill Gates foundation. A cause that focuses on health, education and poverty. He was named the most generous philanthropist in 2018, donating billions of his money into the charity. Aside from the fact that donating to charity gives a company tax incentives, the foundation he created and sits as one of three trustees continues to generate billions more in his pocket. In fact, the foundation has given him more power and clout than he had before. He has built another empire, this time a reach extending to different sectors of life, from health, education to climate change. According to Rob Larson from Jacobin, his move into charitable causes conveniently came at a time when his power moves, as a savage IT giant, started to catch up to him.

“Twenty years ago, people associated the name Gates with ‘ruthless, predatory’ monopolistic conduct.” However, “after taking a public relations beating during [the Microsoft antitrust] trial’s early going in late 1998, the company started what was described at the time as a ‘charm offensive’ aimed at improving its image … Mr. Gates contributed $20.3 billion, or 71 percent of his total contributions to the foundation … during the 18 months between the start of the trial and the verdict.” A wealth manager frankly states, “his philanthropy has helped ‘rebrand’ his name.” 

The question remains, what’s really in it for him? Are his motives truly altruistic or a clever move to salvage his name, another funnel to feed his voracious appetite for power?

To begin all of his angular houses are activated by cardinal signs, the main ingredients of a personality that can create a leader. To stabilize the action oriented energy are his fixed planets in the signs of Leo and Scorpio. An intense and stubborn quality he possess and with the exception of his North Node in Sagittarius, it is not surprising the man has no mutable energy to show a level of compromise in his personality.

The Evolution of His Personality

Gates was well known for bullying his employees during his Microsoft days. He was known to be cruel, predatory and condescending. He infamously harassed his staff with endless questions. A kind of ritual for the microchip tycoon to eventually prove their incompetency. He was also known to circle around the company parking lot after hours to see who was putting in the time.

A stickler for results his bullying extended to business associates and competitors.

 “…it was Gates’s burning desire to grind his competitors to sand, along with his desire to set the standard that software makers would conform to, that led to Microsoft selling over 90 percent of the PC operating systems of the 1990s and 2000s. That dominance made Gates the world’s richest man for decades on end.”

The cuddle-loving sign of Cancer on his rising would have you think otherwise, but keep in mind, Cancer energy is of cardinal modality, one that pushes for what it wants. The entrepreneurial force is strong in him (Cancer +Aries). His moon is in the sign of Aries right at the top of his chart. (His emotions splattered in the media for all to see) A Moon in Aries gives him compulsive, reactive emotions. A moon he shares with the late Steve Jobs—also known for berating his staff, it’s considered one of the selfish, more infantile moons, in demand for what it wants. However, this is the emotional energy that pushes for individual vision, that isn’t waiting for approval and isn’t afraid to go for what it wants. With an opposition to his Mars in Libra, in the 4th house, it also indicates a short fuse, temperamental and projecting inner turmoil onto others.  A confrontational moon, that signifies fault blaming in others, not seeing their own hands in it. His impatience and aggression are further heightened by another opposition to Mercury, also in logical and pushy Libra. Gates is pushy with words and can spitball them in anger.

He’s kinda like a battery station, self-charging with Uranus in Leo right beside his Ascendent. Not only having a long battery life, constantly generating self-will, determination and power of self, it powers up his base, continually circuiting to his 7th house of others–all angular houses. He is pure energy, running on live wires with hard, challenging aspects to all the planets Uranus in Leo makes. Highly explosive, and sensitive to the nervous system is a recipe for rash and unpredictable behaviour. Being in their presence would be like constantly walking on eggshells.

Even sympathetic biographers  refer to Gates’s frequent “abrasive, childish rants” and “childlike temper tantrums.” Gates’s number two and CEO successor, Steve Ballmer, maintained this reputation of management by yelling like an ape at employees and sometimes throwing chairs.”

He’s always right, especially with a sensitive ego. With a Uranus in Leo in hard aspect to his Sun in Scorpio, no one can tell him what to do, or wouldn’t dare try to. This is a defensive and temperamental energy combination.

What can likely settle his highly projected emotions is his comforts of home and his privacy. His actions are likely turn into a self-scrutinizing ritual. A kind of tranquilizer that saves him from jumping off the edge, the blended energies help him unwind, to smooth things out internally. His rapidly moving circuits, requires time and privacy, a retreat to diffuse and recalibrate.

That’s a rare trait.” 

Scorpio is the regenerative energy of the zodiac, a transformative process through out a person’s life. The blended energies between Neptune in Libra and his Sun in Scorpio in his 4th house, can indicate during downtime, he processes the results of his behaviour in the outside world with others. It creates a feeling of connection to the world, to others. An energy that integrates, pacifies the separateness he feels with Uranus in Leo conjunct his Ascendent, his self-identity. Evident of a wound with community, with Chiron in Aquarius (Uranus ruled sign) siting in his 7th house of others. This is an energy that can be self-fulfilling, a sore that is easily opened up, a constant trigger, if not eventually used for the greater good.

Gates acknowledged in the 2019 annual letter he published with his wife, Melinda. “When I was at Microsoft, I was tough on people I worked with. Some of it helped us be successful, but I’m sure some of it was over the top.”

His identity, his ego, along with his values are strongly identified with his emotion, depth and creativity. Which is bound to go through the revolutionary changes of maturity. Saturn and Venus rule the 10th, 7th and 2nd house. For Gates, there is bound to be growth and evolution in these critical areas of life.

In his earlier immature years, having yet to evolved, Gates was likely more focused on values related to power, control, and the wealth that comes with it. His self-worth was likely based on such matters. With Pluto and Scorpio influence, it’s energy that rides on subconsciously craving that power—at all cause.

There’s a constant battle with assimilating what’s morally right and personal duty versus, obligations to the exterior world. There’s a desire to express ones true self-identity. THE PROCESS OF EVOLUTION

Jupiter and Pluto blended creates the truth combo. The lessons given and learnt can’t be escaped. A person is unable to trick themselves any longer, or have their subconscious go unchecked. It’s a clearing of the old. Creating new patterns of belief, which speak of new visions that are authentic and true to self. An influence that is seemingly being built for his spiritual mission in life.

Sagittarius is the guru sign. A visionary, a teacher who spreads his word, that knows how to reach others through charisma but also through kindness. It’s a sign that can see others for who they are, generously sharing their wisdom and wealth.  However, the other side of the sign speaks of the Archetype Zeus, the all powerful creator and ruler to all gods, who was not above deceit to get what he wanted. Sagittarius is also known to seek truth, yet can bend it to cater the self, becoming obtuse in its grand vision. The lower vibration of the sign can have them believe their way to be right,  above all else. Morality mixed in with arrogance, their personal beliefs become a blindspot. Once they believe in something, they hold onto it with fervour. If this were the case for Gates, it is an obstinate view for that could be fed by a continued need to be in the seat of power.

I remember having a discussion with a friend of mine about Bill Gates motives and his hands on health care in relation to Covid, the pandemic and vaccinations. It was a back and forth debate as to his reason for possible manipulation. She said what better way to mask the motives behind it and the power one hungers than to show it to the forefront of society. In other words, she believes Bill Gates to be a twisted, ingenious tyrant. Nothing is a stretch to me any longer. People do crazy things, sometimes intentionally to feed some subconscious hunger. Sometimes unintentionally to feed the same hidden well. One can speculate, deeply study the workings of someone else’s internals, but one can never truly be certain about how another mind works from afar.

Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius heralds a great change in humanity. It is said to be a conjunction that happened at the same time the three magi’s witnessed the Star of David. A conjunction that paralleled the birth of two significant prophets, Muhammad, and Jesus Christ. I don’t believe Bill Gates to be either, but what we may witness in the unfolding months, could be genuine altruism at work or just another interface he brilliantly created to cover, control and monopolize reality as we know it.
