They are not afraid of their emotions, having a sixth sense of their strength and power to connect and help others. It is their innate language of connection to speak in compassion and sympathy. In its highest expression, a Cancer male will want to make you feel loved and welcomed.

Sun

In modern times, the Sun serves neutral influence on both men and women. It can also represent the mother for some. Venus

We can get a broader view when we look at his Venus. Venus rules his wants, what he is attracted to, his personal likes and dislikes, for which his five senses desire. His Venus qualities give him the spark in his eyes.

Venus in Fire signs will offset or create more emotional flux in him. The watery Venus will spike his sensitivity, giving him a tendency to be more covert about his feelings. Earthy Venus will keep him patient, subtle, and observant. He can express his views, show words of affection readily in the air signs.

The Venus in Cancer is the matriarch of the family. He may be looking for that in his mate. Someone who can express that motherly love or at least the attentive nature of the archetype. He is looking for someone to make a home with him and expand his progeny. His ideal mate is feminine, will take the helm in his personal life. Like a fluffy cushion, or supple breasts and arms, he scopes out someone who can comfortably embrace him into a gentle reverie.

Moon

The Moon is important to all. The cultural conditioning/gender bias you have been shaped by is irrelevant. Our Moon sign is probably the most significant part of us. In the most personal area of life, the energy reveals our inner nature and what we need to survive and thrive emotionally. Our Moon sign needs are non-negotiable.

A man’s Moon can reveal how he was nurtured, mothered. It will reflect what he requires from his partner. How he will care for you. This is the love language(along with Venus) of his soul. The watery Moon will need emotional nurturance and amplify his Cancer energy. The earth type will help stabilize a moody Cancer energy. If his Moon is in an air sign, he can be more forthcoming about his feelings. The fire moon will stoke that compassionate and nurturing side.

Not being in touch or accepting this strong feminine aspect of himself is a shadowed Moon–a neglected part of himself.

If his moon is strongly afflicted and has bad aspects, he can be an emotional rut. Defined by his constant needs, battling life looking for a mother source. Hypersensitive to all, unable to discern rational behaviour and emotional tantrums, he can leave you high and dry when you require support, yourself, retreating from overwhelming turbulent waters.
