Aquarius in Astrology: The Eccentric Visionary

Aquarius in Astrology symbolizes the uniqueness of the individual, yet understands the importance of integrating their individuality into the web of life.

From the Capricorn energy and building a system that works, we now move into Aquarius and seeing the evolutionary possibilities for what has been established.

All three air signs are known for their capacity for abstract thoughts and ideas. Being the third and last of the air sign, it is the Aquarius mind that is the most evolved. It not only sees the affairs of the mundane, the value of balance of opposites, the Aquarius energy is apt to see beyond what has already been conceived, for its vision can stretch the limits of concrete reality. When operating on high frequency, the expanded mind of the water-bearer reaches its most highest ideal: acceptance of all.

However, there is a dichotomy within the sign, as it champions the uniqueness of the individual, it also symbolizes the tribe, the collective.

When the energy has evolved, Aquarius in Astrology knows how to integrate both into a balanced whole.

The Aquarius has the natural bent to be different, to see things differently. Their multi-dimensional view magnifies their belief that all ideas can be made possible. This creates the genius, the eccentric and the rebel. A thin line from the mad genius, the anarchist. Underneath it all is how one reacts to the acceptance of their true nature. If it is not twisted in the shadows of doubt, isolation, resentment, the Aquarius rides on the high vibrations of self-awareness, self-acceptance, un-wavered by the response of the outside world. They stand on their ingenious ideas and go forth despite the absence of supporters or allies, for they have the wisdom that others are bound to catch-up.

The Marvel characters Professor Xavier and his friend and nemesis Magneto characterizes the duality of the sign. While both were ostracized for their unique super powers, which caused respective trauma,  it is Professor X who has utilized his “superpower” for good by creating a school for those with similar rare gifts.  Magneto, on the other hand, characterizes the Anarchist archetype. As the criminal, who is colored by the past, he only accepts those who are on his team and uses his unique powers to obliterate everyone else standing in the way of his goals—to create a world where his kind/mutants rule.

Both characters lead an opposing team, but it is the XMen leader, Xavier, who has integrated his dichotomous sides into balance.

Professor X’s rebellious nature is used to legitimize not ostracize.

An energy that oils all the cogs involved, he is a leader seeing from a higher perspective, yet his self-acceptance of both his follies and strengths keep him grounded, reachable. Through his evolved lens, he sees himself no different from anyone else, in that they are all linked by the contribution of their unique gifts to the team. Accepting all for what they are, Professor X defends the underdogs—paradoxically, in this case, he defends both humans and mutants, legitimizing their respective worth, envisioning the possibilities both human and mutant can live in harmony.

The evolved Aquarius energy uses its natural detachment to see an overview of the world around them. Their multi-faceted viewpoint give them vast insight, helping them to maintain an open-mind and to expand when necessary. The Aquarius visionary ideas, and ingenious streaks are attached with the entire community in mind, to move them into progression, elevate an established order, even when they find themselves standing alone in that vision.
