Inadequacy to Mastery: Saturn in Aquarius Direct October 11 2021
Saturn is currently in its home sign of Aquarius, which makes the qualities of Saturn that much more potent and pronounced. Being the symbolic authority figure in the cosmos, we tend to feel the less savoury qualities of the planet. A challenge especially in our earlier lives, and for those that have an afflicted Saturn or if Saturn, Capricorn and Aquarius aren’t strong in a personal chart. Our natal Saturn can tell us what area(s) of life we feel his restrictions most. A sense of inadequacy, that which every effort made seems to feel like it is met with another road block.
For the collective, the combination of Saturn and Aquarius energy, as the whole world is experiencing, has been about a tightening of restrictions, new rules implemented on the people, how we use technology, connect, amongst other things.
At one level or another, we all feel this within our own individual experiences. However, there are benefits to Saturn restrictions. Limitations we set, the discipline we practice and thrive in are all the boundaries we impose on ourselves in order to enable us to reach intended results and sometimes mastery status. It is when we don’t set the limits ourselves, we feel hard-ass Saturn most in our lives. When he steps in via transits to critical points in our personal charts and teach us the importance of limitation and focus.

With Saturn in Rx since end of May, some of us may have noticed the pressures lifted from our Saturn transit. A period when we are encouraged to go within to change things up, to reassess the past for a better understanding on what is currently worth our time and efforts.
Saturn is the part of us that builds and create structures to define our lives into a cohesive, efficient flow. Patterns that are set from the tried and true, from our lessons and experiences. It is these same structures that can get us into a rut, stagnate us into comfortable habits, blocking growth. We can become defined by our past. A Saturn Rx period helps us re-assess and rework parts of ourselves that require the necessary introspection to rebuild, redefine and realign with our current needs and new future goals.
This does not mean we stop the cogs of our lives to a halt. Contrary. We become our own boss and make sure things go as usual. We learn self-discipline and restrain. We learn to oil our own spokes, to oversee areas of our lives with self-authority. Going internal, being in contemplation helps us know ourselves better, to define ourselves on another level. To fortify the house Saturn transits and the natal place the energy sits in our chart.
Once Saturn turns direct it is game time, time to express, implement and manifest. A time when we have a better grip on the areas Saturn rules in our lives and for some reaching a level of confidence or mastery.
With Aquarius in the expression, part of the journey also means understanding our individuality in the process. The uniqueness of who we are and how once can integrate and contribute our authentic self to the collective. We have also witness evolutionary changes currently being implemented with technology and the control the government, corporations are looking to establish. On a material level, Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus are creating the changes, destroying the old and redefining from the ashes. Changing the very fabric of governmental systems, our human landscape to help us gain more control, power and autonomy in our lives. How will you help move it along? Which side do you see yourself? How do you see the future? Where do you see yourself within the masses? A critical period in history for each of us to find our own unique qualities amidst political, national and capitalist uncertainties.
Now that Saturn finishes off its last retrograde period in the sign of Aquarius and gains direct momentum, the introspection from the last few months, the shedding of what is no longer necessary, should establish some to a new level of confidence, freedom from the restrictions of the past. The next few months, before it moves on to Pisces on March 7, there is a sense of levelling up, shown by new positions we are offered and confidently take, as we wave goodbye and welcome Saturn in another area of our lives.
