Mercury Retrograde In Leo July 7-July 31st

Mercury currently spins in retro moves in the constellation of Leo & will touch the last few degrees of Cancer. It’s time to redo, reevaluate & redefine how we think, how we communicate & how we interact with others.

Leo is about our will, how we individuate ourselves, a realization generally through creative spirit. Since the Sun rules Leo, it’s also an area that tells us how & where we shine our rays. On the flip, it’s where we also crave attention, where pride can get the best of us, where we show resistance. Cancer is what we care for, how we want to be nurtured.

When Mercury goes retrograde in Leo it’s time for that ego-check in certain areas of life—this time around there are challenges along the way.

From the jump, Mercury meets forceful Mars, instigating irritability, reactionary & impulsive moves. Agitation rises for the one-track mind Lion when Uranus prods us with rods of electrical shocks from the square to Mercury. The tension will likely call for sudden upsets & unwelcoming surprises.

The tense energy peaks when Mercury hits Cancer, activating an opposition with Pluto in Cap. Be aware of power struggles, obsessive thoughts or psychological manipulations. Not a good scene coming out of an upfront, fixed Leo energy.

The Leo to Cancer changeover means going back to the seat of our intuitive, heart-felt self. A resonating theme with Venus also in Cancer—creating positive juju with “one-love” Neptune energy. It’s a moment to step back —avoiding ego-type reactions—let the air of good feelings & tenderness wrap around you. A blanket stitched with more compassionate fabric as Mercury, Mars & the Sun trine with asteroid Chiron. Chiron represents our never-ending wound, but what we cannot heal within ourselves we can decrease by helping others.

Once Mercury goes direct into Leo again, the idea of who we think we are,  should be aligned to purity of heart, a place which nurtures our creative spirit, one that generates inner light, bright enough its brilliance naturally reaches others.
