Mercury Retrograde in Pisces 2019
Mercury, the communication god, dips his wings into Pisces vast & intuitive waters. As the ruler of our thoughts, communication and our daily routines, our headspace can become scattered, turning tangent & confusing, which can unhinge daily rituals, tempting us to go on escape mode, as plans dissolve right before our eyes. An influence intensified by dreamy Neptune in Pisces, as Mercury passes his nebulous orbit 3 times, no doubt causing flux and anxiety.
Mercury, detriment in Pisces, naturally rules Virgo—Pisces opposite sign, dampening his swift skills, his realistic and analytical nature. On the positive, it’s preparing us for its retrograde course, turning the journey inward, tapping us into our creative, emotional & mystical selves.
The square to lucky Jupiter in Sagittarius can throw us in the right currents, but stay vigilant! The optimism can also distract us deeper into the wanderlust of Pisces intoxicating waters. Look out for a line thrown in by the harmonious trine to the North Node in sister sign Cancer, reinforcing the use of our emotional intelligence, a reminder to hold on to what feels right & comfortable. We get further illumination once the Sun & Mercury cross paths in a conjunction, its brilliance penetrating through the haze and recharging us with vitality & positivity.
The Suns helpful rays in the sign of the elusive fish will also make Mercury’s second & third pass down Neptune’s boundless oceans more purposeful, easier to navigate, shining a spotlight on alternate routes. It changes the theme of their meetings from unsettling tides, from the feeling of being stranded at first, into a reconnection to other parts of our selves. An opportunity to reconsider that when logic has escaped us, when a map is nowhere to be found, we can rely on our internal compass of intuition & emotion for guidance—and with a bit creativity, propel us down a winding road.
By the time the fleet-footed messenger completes its retrograde course, we’ll have shaken off the weight of Piscean waters to fly high again to return to our daily events, but perhaps, that much more swifter with the wings of insight directing us.
