What is Neptune?

In Roman mythology, Neptune was the god of the seas. Like its vast waters, Neptune symbolizes our subconscious depth, creative force (water), sublime beauty and the subtle connection of humanity, permeating on a soul level, dissolving and blurring boundaries. Neptune stays in a sign for long periods, influencing a generation born under the sign that the nebulous planet was transiting. Through that sign, they express a collective idealism and a spiritual awakening, often unified by hope, a cause, and even fantasy.

Neptune In Pisces

Neptune entered its home sign of Pisces in 2011 and will leave the enigmatic energy in April 2025, retrograde back into Pisces again, and then leave for good in 2026. With Neptune potent in Pisces, there was a collective heightened awareness and a strong push for inclusivity, equality and harmony. The “woke” movement is a good example, which originated from the BLM movement and rose during the year Neptune entered Pisces in 2011. The group questioned and confronted government systemic issues against the disenfranchised, particularly the Black community.

The same year, a series of protests in the Arab world advocated democracy and reform in places like Tunisia, Sudan, Egypt and Syria. Additionally,  on May 2nd Osama BL is killed. And later that year, authoritarian North Korean leader King Jong II died (but his son stepped in to dictate)

What happens when Neptune goes into Aries?

Neptune’s influence on our collective consciousness in Aries will connect us to fight for what the fiery war god represents: individuality, passions, force of will, aggression, a warrior and trailblazer sensibility.

Neptune in Aries in History

The last time Neptune was in Aries was between April 1861 and 1874 during the American Civil War. Uranus was also in Gemini, which, I believe, was another catalyst of the war. There were three major planetary influences in earth signs: Saturn retrograding was in Virgo at 3°, Pluto was in Taurus at 8°, and the North Node was in Capricorn. The focus was on changes in the fabric or reality, which meant shifts in the way we connected and interacted (Uranus in Gemini) under the heightened awareness of self, our individual desires and the right to have that freedom for all. (Neptune in Aries)

During the American Revolution, Uranus was in Gemini between 1774 and 1782; earth signs also dominated the outer planets in the first few years. Saturn was in Virgo, along with Neptune and the North Node, while Uranus was retrograding in Taurus, and Pluto was in Capricorn.

In 1941, when WW2 started, the year began with Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus all in Taurus, and Uranus and Neptune were in Virgo.

This time around, Neptune’s transit into the fierce energy will have the same themes with changes of expression when you consider there will be no earth or water energy for the next 2.5 years. Air and Fire energy will dominate until Saturn moves into Taurus in April 2028. (Jupiter will go into Cancer but will be more influential on a personal level.)

The collective passion and fight will occur psychologically, and many battles will erupt online. I’m not an expert on war and the history of it, but from what I’ve read, I’m speculating that we are at the beginning of a Cold War:

According to Google AI, this is what a cold war is: (Replace or add with China and the current geopolitical climate, and it sounds like our world’s current affairs.

The Cold War was a period of geopolitical tension between the United States and the Soviet Union, and their respective allies, that lasted for decades after World War II:

  • Ideological rivalry: The United States and its allies viewed communism as a threat to individual freedoms, free elections, and free trade. The Soviet Union, on the other hand, sought to spread communism around the world.
  • Arms buildup: Both sides engaged in a massive arms buildup, including the development of nuclear weapons.
  • Espionage: The two sides engaged in espionage against each other.
  • Proxy wars: The two sides supported opposing sides in wars fought by other nations.
  • Political maneuvering: The two sides engaged in political maneuvering against each other.
  • Economic aid: The United States provided economic aid to support its allies.

Certain parts of the Western sphere are pushing for rights of freedom of speech and experiencing the cancellation of the cancel culture of suppression. Other parts of the world, like Australia and Vietnam, are passing laws to curb the consumption of social media platforms. Neptune in Aries will move the collective to fight for individual rights, desires, and beliefs independent from authority.

An example is the election won by the new president-elect and the distrust in legacy media. Though the dismantling began while Pluto was in Capricorn and Saturn in Pisces (illusions and deceptions unveiled), the torch will be carried on with the fiery influence of Aries Neptune aspecting Pluto in Aquarius and creating platforms of transparency. You have pioneering news outlets like Ground News or Valuetainment that offer both sides of the story and the angles that are taken based on what side the publication leans on. Podcasts will dominate the scene even further and become the leading entertainment and news outlets. (Independent personalities and opinions—Neptune in Aries)

It’s essential to note that when Saturn, the lord of Karma and justice served from the truth that is unveiled, went into Pisces (Mar 2023), we saw a retribution, a karmic cleansing from what started in 2011 when Neptune entered Pisces. Its darker side unravelled the abusive powers under the guise of altruistic actions and propaganda.

The woke movement is currently being questioned for its shadier motives and actions of the past. What was initially a cause for unity, hope, and inclusivity turned into things like cancel culture and an abuse of power by elites. The mainstream media is being called out for the years of fabricated news (to say it nicely). Since the new president-elect, there has been more pushback for freedom of speech, calling out censorship and fake news.

Fresh Expressions with Neptune in AriesSaturn in Aries May 24th 2025 —Apr 12th 2028

Regulations, limitations and censorship seem like the obvious scenarios when Saturn transits Aries, curbing the warrior sign’s desires, individual expression and inherent passionate force. But looking at the last time Saturn was in Aries (1996-1999), there were major leaps and strides forward. The list below indicates kernels that developed through the decades. Included below are the deaths of iconic and independent thinkers, the seeds they’ve since dispersed, and notable ideas and innovations that define the fabric of our lives to date.

Will it be the same once Saturn rolls into Aries?

Saturn coming in early with its rules, limitations, karmic endings, and beginnings helps Neptune in Aries on better footing. There is a requirement to focus on reality, one’s limitations and moral compass in action. The influence indicates a strive towards what matters, and, for a select few, so that greatness unfolds to lead others —with Saturn flavourings—right from the jump. However, like every hero’s journey, there will come tests and obstacles, which we will see when Neptune and Saturn conjunct at 0° of Aries twice on July 2025 and perfect on Feb 2026.

Saturn and Neptune Conjunct in Aries

Before seeds can grow and develop, there will be a reckoning. Structures, old ways of action, desires, and force of will dissolve. This can create insecurity, depression, and all that Saturn tough stuff that is destined to fall away and not meant to be carried forward in the long run. Saturn wants efficiency. It will test your endurance (Saturn) of Aries (will).

However, Neptune is the more potent planet, and its influence on Saturn is a process of purifying. A Neptune anointment for your evolutionary growth and the karmic accountability of action, will and desires. It’s both a reminder and a scrubbing away of what isn’t up to snuff so that the Aries’s robust energy is ample through Neptune’s nebulous territory. The process can help stabilize the collective to better navigate Neptune’s elusive waters.

When things fall apart, what are you left with when confusion sets in? Your own faculties of will, courage, strength–and what coincides nicely with Aries in Neptune influence is intuition. It will be a process that involves trusting your gut to achieve the strength of authority that originates from humility.

The conjunction between Neptune and Saturn will be a dissolving of structures, rules, and ego-reality to find a balance within self that can bridge you to fine-tune your connection to the collective ideal.

Around March 2025, before Neptune steps into Aries, it will also make a conjunction with:

North Node in Pisces 27°
Saturn will be at 23° of Pisces
Uranus in Taurus sextiles at 24°
Mars will be direct in Cancer 20° (Trine)

I interpret this as the taste of spiritual evolution for the masses with the Mars (Aries natural ruler) in Cancer trine getting its initial round to understand where the will, focus and passion will be carried forth on a gut level (Cancer). It further signals the collective path forward and our accountability to each other.

Because Aries is the first sign and Neptune is our collective spiritual consciousness, the idealism we share will influence a new level of connection. The new buds will spruce up how we connect on social media, how we further develop AI, and how we define equality as a society. We’ll undoubtedly witness all this in how we fight for our freedom, ideas, beliefs and overall subtle connection.
