Wow. What an adventure to have Saturn strongly influencing my life by having Capricorn rising, Saturn on my descendent line —basically out in the open to feel the grumpiest energy directly in my relocation chart. I know this isn’t the most positive news, but keep reading, and you may find a reason to visit your Saturn line. At the very least, it’s an excellent addition to your astrology repertoire. Notice how in line that last part was with Saturn?

Along with the 10th House, I’ve lived in places that had Saturn on my descendent—in Greece and Bulgaria and experienced Capricorn as my rising sign. This article involves general experiences you’ll have with the influence and what I’ve found that can help to give you the advantage. I focus on the hidden houses as examples and how you can assert the energy better. I chose these houses out of interest and the epiphany I had to help myself and others with their hidden, perhaps even shadowed, selves.

With hidden houses like the 8th and 12th, one has to be brave enough to jump in. It is the part of you that may have been shunned, ignored, and altogether avoided. Your hidden self that whispers in your ears, a taste to your desire you can’t quite distinguish but know its flavour. It’s that part of you so potent and intense it may not have a name and may actually have you in chains. It always helps if you’re already conscious of it and prepared.

Saturn and You

A picture of sliced mango comes to mind. Two halves cut from its pit. Both sides turn into a bowl-like shape that your hand’s cup snuggly, scoop up the soft sweet meat with a spoon, and enjoy. In my humble opinion, it’s the best way to eat a mango. I remember seeing the juicy flesh cut in the same way but with an added step. On each half, you cut smaller diced sections and when you turn it inside out, it blooms in segments.

It was the most wonderful thing I witnessed for some reason. I thought it was genius, to be honest (yet, I don’t ever prepare it that way). In fact, I peeled it in the beginning, then cut it into slices. Pretty time-consuming compared to the easier, more convenient two.

Saturn operates the same way in our lives. At first, the planet’s requirements feel laborious, seemingly robbing you of your time, attention and effort. As you move along the journey with the father figure in Astrology, you realize (usually in hindsight) each limiting and awkward experience was necessary for improvement and efficiency.

The more intimate your relationship with Saturn—which I liken to understanding life from a mature lens, synonymous with seeing your parents under that same lens with humility—is when you start to appreciate and respect his energy and stickler for order and discipline. Heck, I think there is something wondrous, cool about Saturn’s influential life force. But the essential energy is only recognized when you’ve created a bond with Saturn—with that part of yourself.

We all have a different process signified by Saturn’s sign, position, and its connection to the overall chart. A relocation chart can help move things along if your Capricorn energy is hidden, if planets are less prominently expressed but may brew strongly within and spew uncontrollably occasionally to your detriment.

What if it is placed in the 8th house or 12th house?

According to certain astrologers, it does okay in the 12th house. I don’t see how that makes sense based on what each element represents by function in our lives. The energies are opposite, a combination of awkwardness. I’m not saying it is impossible to work out. One would have to be quite aware and evolved to master the combination. In the 8th House, it’s arguably worse. Generally speaking, drying up what naturally needs secretion and flow to survive and thrive. Ei—sex, relationship dynamics. To have it in the open, expressing what’s necessary can help move things along.

8th House and 12th House hidden matters

Again, an emphasis on awareness and preparedness. Lots of baggage in these houses. It’s like going into a deep cave, deep ocean and discovering life that used to be there. Worse, suppose it has thrived in the shadows and is unrecognizable, taken its own form, or speaks its own language that will seem so foreign. In that case, you may not be ready for its content. This is the house of trauma, fears, phobias, fetishes, shame, and things we keep hidden from ourselves for those reasons.

It could also be the hidden Atlantis or Lemurian in you. Discovering an old civilization (ancestral), your secret powers, and the truth about your deepest desires and what keeps you enchanted. Old archives can be excavated, read, and meditated on to better understand your hidden house matters. The language, stirrings, and whispers can have a soundboard, a stage on which you can drop that mic with resounding zest.

If you’ve passed the stage of your Saturn Return, it’s a tremendous help to know you’ve been given the pats on the back and felt the graceful results to carry you through. It’s a much smoother ride in lessons having that intimate status with Saturn. The blasting chaos, fears, limitations or inadequacy are viewed as steps closer to reach results.

How directly experiencing Saturn influences can help

The base characteristics will remain no matter where Saturn moves in your chart. The lessons will still be there, but they will become more pronounced in the newly chosen area of life.

For example: If your natal Saturn is in the 2nd house, the focus will be on such things as values, self-worth, etc… When you’ve moved into another area of life, on a Saturn line by relocation, the lessons continue (an imprint of you) but will now focus on another life function. The main idea with Saturn is to see things on a broader scope. The energy represents structure, planning, building and achieving. With that comes lessons of sacrifice, efficiency and authority. Sometimes it takes getting to the nitty gritty of our fears, limitations and inadequacy to find the grace in his lessons. It is having an idea planned out to see its fruition in reality. Directly experiencing Saturn is a chance to understand how far and where your efforts, consistency and determination will take you.

5)The depression, negative talk—listen to it in detachment. It’s easier to see it objectively. It’s your chance to be an observer and there for yourself to change your life’s soundtrack into something more harmonious and induced for growth.

As for those who walk with Saturn daily and have structured life respecting that part of you, it’s good to look for ways to improve by having Saturn open for evaluation. If it is in the 8th or 12th house, slice it open for clarity and updated messages he might be trying to teach you. In the 4th House natally, it’s good for trimming the old. In the 9th House, checking in on outdated beliefs, etc..
