They say that when you start to get older, you are looking back more than you are forward.

Whoever “they” are, obviously weren’t in their Uranian energy.

Whenever Uranus is in focus, Saturn is somehow related.

After your Saturn return (between 28–35—its full effect), the next major transit of adulthood is transit Saturn square your natal Uranus around ages 36–42.

This is the first nudge toward breaking from Saturn’s conventions. What you’ve been conditioned to—whether through family, culture, or societal norms—the sense of obligation and expectation begins clashing with your Uranian authenticity. This period asks for constant adjustment, trying to appease both parts of your life.

If you don’t already have strong Uranian energy, this first nudge can feel like an inconvenient awakening. Though subtle, it never quite leaves; instead, it gradually builds, waning at times and becoming more apparent at others. It comes from the pressure of Saturn poking the bear.

Saturn’s pestering is actually waking this part of you into awareness—inviting you to consider whether you still want to follow the father figure’s conventions. And yes, that includes feeling, thinking, and seeing life through a more traditional Saturn lens—looking back, fearing aging, and viewing youth as bygone, generally speaking.

However, if you’re bold enough to reset, reevaluate your priorities, and welcome fresh ideas and new energy—if you’re not being guided by fear—there is life after middle age. Not the façade of complacent contentment, but truly living with self-acceptance and embracing where you are, grounded in gratitude for all that you’ve learned and experienced—ironically gained through Saturn’s conditioning.

Uranus trains you to live more in line with your self-truth—a natural progression.
