Venus in Capricorn Retrograde: Tradition and Progress Dec 19th 2021 – Jan 29th 2022

How the Venus in Capricorn Retrograde Period Can Help Move the Collective Forward

Key Points:

  • How it applies on a personal level
  • How it links to our collective progress
  • What planets are strongly involved
  • The significant transits, how to use it and how it benefits

Venus in Capricorn Retrograde OverviewYou know nothing Jon Snow.” The infamous line from Ygritte, the sharpshooting archer, from the HBO hit series Game of Thrones. Far from a damsel in distress, she is steady on her feet, she knows her target, is efficient and confident to make her kill. Ygritte personifies the sensibility of the Capricorn energy. She’s cold, resistant, objective and is skeptical about anything that is unknown. Qualities she especially expresses with the bastard son Jon Snow, a foreigner to her lands and people, she doesn’t hesitate to sling her arrow in him, if time necessitates it. She, like Venus in Capricorn, is ruled by obligation. Ygritte serves Mance Ryder and the Free Folk. She values her status as a free woman and with whom she roams freely beyond the North Wall. However, as the story unfolds, the necessary veneer is slowly peeled with trust and time. And within the facade that is slowly coming down, we start to get a glimpse of the Venus in Capricorn core. Dominance and initiative. Traits Ygritte displays through continuous seduction. When Jon finally gives in, he seems to be the “bottom” in their lovemaking.

In love, Venus in Capricorn is comfortable taking the reign and as a good leader, she knows to contain her emotion. Ygritte’s natural hesitancy further exemplifies the qualities of a controlled Venus. Just like her commitment to her bows target to kill, Venus is invested in the long haul. It is an energy that is loyal to a fault for a cause, having the bigger picture in mind, the intention is to reach results and gain stability. Think about the mountain goat, climbing the steepest, craggy summit. It’s quite impressive to watch. Skilled and mastered in such hostile and unusual environments, Capricorn energy does not give up easily. Committed, despite the obstacles, it shapes them to focus and understand the value of their undertaking. When expressed in Venus, this involves the importance of values, growing steady wealth, and solid relationships. Venus in Capricorn is quality over quantity.

Venus in Capricorn on a Personal Level

Venus in Capricorn Nov 5th – Mar 5th / Venus Rx in Capricorn Dec 19th 2021 – Jan 29th 2022

Wherever Venus sits in your chart is where you are graced, supported by her love. It goes the same way for the transits. The qualities of the sign and house she visits are where and how we can benefit.

During the four-month period, Venus makes significant dabs with outer social planets. Helping you to accelerate life, make better choices, create prosperity and happiness.

It is a chance to thoroughly re-examine “the meat” of the area of life she influences. This will be a good exercise to commit, build and reach intended Venus goals. Which will require planning, restructuring and improving. It will be a hard look at what will fall between the cracks and what will grow back in brighter bloom. Venus requires practicality, tenacity to create something solid in the future. To gain satisfaction and confidence in the areas of life influenced. This will be especially important if it hits critical angles such as the 1st, 7th, 4th and 10th houses. And if it nudges personal planets during the 4 month period Venus stays in Capricorn.

Venus in Capricorn Linked to Collective Responsibility

Just as important as your personal needs and goals, the period is linked to the current collective soup. The energy  of Capricorn Venus directly speaks of the major changes in the world that we are all witnessing and experiencing. It’s a historical moment, when paradigms are shifting on a financial, economic, political and cultural level. All related to the transits occurring now with Uranus in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius, and to a lesser but still impactful degree Pluto in Capricorn, and Neptune in Pisces.

Current World Climate and how it relates to each Transits

Saturn in Aquarius

As the ruler of Aquarius, Saturn in its home sign packs a punch of energy and creates major shifts for us on a collective level. Themes that involve structures, rules and limitations to how we interact, connect and communicate on a global scale. What it means for our future and individual and collective evolution.

We have all witnessed the impact of Saturn transiting Aquarius via the limitations of the last two years with the pandemic and lockdowns. Which forced us to evolve to new ways of living, interacting and communicating. A harsh reality, no doubt, but also necessary to excel us forward to get through our collective ordeal. It has truly given us a sense of our globalized connection and shaped it as such.  At the same time, having been isolated for a lengthy period, some of us have had a chance to reflect on our individual needs, urging us to contemplate about the future, and redefine accordingly. The crisis has brought about personal changes and how we want to connect with others. Change that has urged new commitments, a need for more meaning, integrity into our lives to see a better future.  A great reset both personally and as a whole.

Shaking up the status quo

Uranus in Taurus Rx (Aug 19th 2021- Jan 18th 2022)

Those individual changes felt, done and made, can be strongly linked to Uranus in Taurus. (Uranus being the modern ruler of Aquarius)  Our values are being reset and stretched. Uranus is the wrecking ball that smashes what doesn’t speak of our higher good. It demands authenticity and growth. It is the ultimate reset.

Having been in the sign of Taurus for some years now, Uranus has pushed us to face the weight of our values, our outer desires, comforts and earthly material resources. Restoration for a better, fortified build. This has caused disruptions to our financial systems, the earth itself, having us look at our responsibility as custodians of the earth. During the lockdown, our values were tested and examined. Some of us hoarded finances, all of a sudden material worth didn’t have the same weight  it once did in our life. The economy, in turn, spiralled into decline.

Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus go toe to toe for their 3rd and final round this year on the December 24th. Which will bring about more strife, unwelcome, sudden changes. A battle between our comforts and progression, the old vs. the new, freedom vs. stability. Being a square, this particular transit can show the darker side to Saturn in Aquarius as well as Uranus in Taurus. As Saturn inches back closer to make an exact square to Uranus at 11°, we have been witnessing more tension rise on a global scale. The tighter regulations have forced opposition and resistance.  Countries like Australia, along with several European nations like Italy, Austria and Holland, have gathered against vaccine mandates and draconic measures.

A few weeks ago, more than 30 professors from Ivy League schools like Harvard requested data from the FDA for the Pfizer Covid vaccine. A request to help settle public scrutiny and distrust. The FDA requested 55 years to release data. Apparently, a process that required intensive reviewing and to keep participants’ identities safe.(reuters.com)

On a socio-economic level, regulations are being made for the new digital currency, decentralization and its objective to new financial freedom. It is a continuation of power moves, the inequality which was made starkly obvious during the pandemic between the major profiters and small businesses losing their spot in the race.

Uranus in Taurus is the ball-breaker to the Saturn and Aquarius regulations. With the extremities of rules being imposed, the people have pushed back, defying governing control. People fighting for rights of autonomy, of our own body and values. A fight to keep our freedom. It’s bringing about total upheaval. But one which is necessary to shake up and authenticate who we are and how we want to move forward in society.

Social media has been a tool for solidarity. Yet, we see falsifying information spread out at the same time. The darker side to Uranus is the rebel without the clarity of cause, an impulse for unnecessary anarchy. Which requires Saturn in Aquarius regulations— in this case with how information is spread through technology. This is Aquarius at its true essence. The dichotomy between the individual and the masses. An example would be the breaching of the White House. In January 2021, a mob of Trump supporters violently attacked the United States Capitol in Washington D.C as a reaction to his electoral defeat. It was a violent scene motivated by Trump’s ongoing and latest blast on social media.

Connection to Other Planets and Their Impact

Venus in Capricorn Retrograde ImpactPluto In Capricorn

In other parts of the cosmic scene, since Pluto entered Capricorn there has been an overhaul in governing structures. Corporations, large institutions, those in power have been shaken to the core. Truth revealed about shady business transactions and the abuse of power. A time of the #metoo movement, when high profile tyrants like Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, Bill Cosby, Kevin Spacey have been exposed for their ill behaviour. Another example is Facebook losing face for improper use of personal data.

It’s a continual paradigm shift, where the old order of power is under scrutiny and even overthrown. We are also witnessing this with the Great Resignation. A mass rise of blue collar employees quitting in the US. One of the largest movements in history was the BLM protests , which strongly reflect the treatment of the black community and racial profiling by authorities. What makes it more interesting is that the US is going through their Pluto return. The leading nation turning on its head with civil unrest, red states vs. blue states, who is for the vaccine mandates or not.

Neptune in Pisces

The influence of Neptune in Pisces has been a cause of both illusion, confusion and hope.  The period has been a cause of confusion since February 2020 when the initial threat of Covid loomed over the world. Mercury went into Pisces and then retrograded on Feb 17th, connecting with Neptune in Pisces thrice. Neptune rules medication, viruses, vaccines. Mercury rules our body, lungs. There was much uncertainty, and misleading information. The rush to make the vaccine had its benefits and downfall.  All this falling in Neptune territory.

However, it has unified us at the same time by hope and encouragement, through the media, with lockdowns and globally dispersed information. Yet, the power of the media is also under scrutiny in motivation and agenda. With ties to pharmaceutical giants it’s hard to believe that networks frame messages and news solely for the good of the general public.

With the power of media continually swaying mass public perception, on a local, national and global scale, we can easily buy into the general narrative, the sensationalism (Neptune in Pisces). Giving all the more significance to the Capricorn Venus Retrograde. The transit will help ground some chaos and confusion, mute the noise temporarily to help authenticate our values, pledge our allegiance, consider what it means for the world, and how we are affected by the changes.

Venus in Capricorn Period and the Impact of our Choices

Our choices, how we redefine them can help move and shape the collective. Where do we want changes? Are we sticking to the old or evolving into something new?

Example:

Financially: if we are thinking about investments, money matters, do we look toward to the future of cryptocurrency —empowering the individual, creating opportunities for those who had little to no opportunity in the past? Or give trust to the old systems, the banks? The risk and reward is ours to examine.

Relationships: If Venus is retrograde in your 10th or 11th, what will you be displaying to the world, what legacy do you want to leave behind?  When considering growth, with whom will you nurture relationships and imprint your loyalties?

Values: Venus in Capricorn encourages us to re-examine our personal values, what it means for our future. We are looking into our financial long term stability. Evaluating our relationships and their long-term growth and potential. It is about committing to things for the long haul and working for it to happen, to find success. It is about giving value to authenticity, commitment and building something solid that will stand the test of time.

The decisions we make during the 4-month Venus Retrograde period will not only impact our lives, but the collective along with it. It is synchronistic energy, magic spoken from the cosmos for us to respond in ways that are individually appropriate. Like the wilding, Ygritte, who values the bigger picture, has purpose in her shots, slings in commitment, yet has stretched herself beyond what comforted, it is our responsibility to find our own truth, to find our community. To improve oneself, so to help improve our world around.

Not only will the house show where changes of evolution are happening personally, but how we can contribute our own shifting values to the collective energy. Where we can help move things forward in truth in the next two years? Point arrows in commitment and confidence to reach personal success, but also to help move the collective energy into its spiralling evolution.
