The Value in Venus Retrograde in Aries (Mar 2- Apr 12): Know Thyself
Key points:
- Venus in the sign of Aries
- The Value in the Rx Period
- Cosmic Sky Support: Planets and Aspects
Two weeks before Venus Retrogrades in Aries, Valentine’s Day might have you share heartfelt smooches, feed someone a spoonful of sweetness or generally dance in love. No, not you? Dating life’s been bland, non-existent or mostly confusing, frustrating? Well, then, there’s something to look forward to.
Venus Retrograde in Aries can set you straight in love, relationships and self-worth with so much cosmic support the entire period. By the time you’re out of it, if you’ve put the effort in, you’ll come out as an enhanced version of yourself, more informed and equipped for healthy relationships in all forms—apply to natal and Venus transit in your chart.
If you don’t already know, Venus doesn’t do so well in the aggressive and fierce sign of Aries. Venus rules its opposite graceful sign, Libra. So, there is a constant push and pull in the dynamic which rules the individual and relationship axis. However, balance can also be found in the combination of opposites.
The upside with Venus in Aries is that the energy involves having a good sense of self and desires. Boundaries and independence feel natural, helping to form a healthy sense of self. However, applying that to a relationship can get challenging when you’re bent on doing things your way, habitually see one side or are self-reliant and crave independence. But all it takes is awareness, effort and the right company to achieve balance.
The Value in the Rx period.
It’s time to dial back, reset your relationship settings and know thyself to gain more clarity.
The Rx period is ideal for Aries energy and checking in on yourself (Aries) by reflecting and doing internal work to adjust desires and what’s worth your effort. It’s a perfect time to focus on your behaviour and how you react and take action. Has it gotten you what you want? Where has it gotten you so far? You can build on self-reliance, maintain healthy self-focus and understand what you value about yourself.
It’s also a good time to own up to things and reassert who you are in the context of love and relationships. With Venus in Aries valuing independence, is there enough of it in your life? Or are you too co-dependant? Your answer can reflect a lack of boundaries or too much of it, that you create self-isolation and struggle to connect.
Generally speaking, since the signs rule the me vs. you relationship axis, finding harmony is key to achieving satisfaction. You must step into the Libra lens without losing your Aries footing to avoid see-sawing from one end to the other. In other words, it helps to know yourself, to know what you can give. It also helps to know what you want to know what you desire from someone else.
When you’re aware of your needs, desires and goals, asserting and acting on them is easier, ultimately attracting the right person or situation. Your desires and actions align. This also lessens the fear of getting out there. You trust yourself by knowing yourself and the values that support and inform the right decisions.
The cosmic gods will champion you the whole time.
When Venus turns retro at 10° in Aries, it sextiles benefic Jupiter in Gemini at 11° and Pluto in Aquarius at 2°. If you take action at its higher pulse, mirror a Jupiter style of optimism and faith, it will land you in the right situation. The influence also aligns your desires with your beliefs and overall vision. Look to your natal Jupiter and Gemini house cusp to channel optimistic and blessed support.
Though a mild influence, Pluto in Aquarius deepens the reflective period by acknowledging and applying where your natal Pluto and current transit are. You can ignite, resurrect or transform the self-evaluation period into empowering results. In other words, by facing your fears, you start to clear subconscious hang-ups, get to know yourself on a deeper level, to ideally move towards acceptance and embrace an authentic part of yourself. By this, you move in awareness and are more equipped to accept others for what they are, which can contribute to stronger intimacy and a gratifying bond.
How you plan to act or generally execute will have emotional consequences in the long term, so make them worth it and act on a gut level. In other words, feel your way through. Using your instinct might come a bit more naturally at this time with Mars, the ruler of Aries, in Cancer trining tightly to stabilizing Saturn in Pisces for the entire duration of the Rx period.
Consider who and what gives you an emotional high. What experiences in the past inform that?
Your mind and heart are in sync with Mercury also retrograding in Aries.
On Mar 15, Rx Mercury moves in a tight orb with Rx Venus until Mercury turns direct on Apr 7. Logic and heart work together. It keeps you from becoming too emotionally sided (Mars in Cancer) and indulging or holding on to the past. Mercury helps you maintain a healthy detachment and keeps things rolling, which is an excellent lead-up to the trine occurring with Mars when Venus returns to Pisces. I call a Mars and Mercury blend a “walk the talk energy.” This lets you put your thoughts into action for heartfelt (Venus) sake.
Let your intuition pop in the flow.
Other indirect harmonious aspects occur with Saturn Pisces 20° and Uranus Taurus 23° + Neptune conjunct NN in Pisces. Essentially, this go-with-the-current area of life is helpful during a passive Rx period. On Feb 29, Venus also motions back to this part of your chart and helps you to find a balance between taking action and being receptive. Lean into the house and its functions if challenged with a sense of flow. This highly intuitive part of you can inspire, contemplate possibilities, and connect in ways that feel right.
So, putting all of it together, with cosmic gods cheering you on, the Venus Aries Rx period is about dialling back to tweak self-worth and get a tighter grasp on your needs and desires. Know thyself! As a result, when Venus turns direct, you gain a level of self-trust, which can inform action and flex you in healthy bravado, setting you up for optimal and pleasurable relationships.
