In the sign of Leo, the focus is on creative identity and our unique light to express who we are, our will to be. In the sign of Virgo, it is about working and improving talents and skills into perfection for practical use and becoming of service to others.

A library comes to mind when I think of Virgo characteristics. It’s a quiet and analytical place, with an air of doubt and certainty, but most of all, everything has its place. A library is filled with information, catalogues of books and other material, curated as resources for knowledge and improvement.

The librarian, like the Virgo, enjoys obtaining, preparing and classifying a database of information. Its orderly and strategic sensibility gives the Virgo great concentration and a keen memory. The Hermit archetype is associated with the sign and analogous to the library itself,  depicting a figure in solitude in deep study.  The Virgo joys in pensive environment, yet can also be prone to isolating itself from the world, seeing only the details and the forest for the trees.

There’s a nit-picking, highly critical nature to Virgos. It is the discerning sign that separates the wheat from the shaft. It stems from a knack for details and a strive for perfection.

Virgo becomes the super spirit of service.

In realizing this, Virgo stays in the moment, in the natural order of things, and accepts that there is order in chaos. Even in a mess, the imperfect is also perfect. That perfection is in each detail, each step. Similar to the library serving its community towards improvement, the Virgo energy is in service towards the bigger picture.
